A Travel Philosophy with Roots

Tembo Travel was born out of Tembo Safari, which for many years introduced guests to the wonders of Africa. As time went on, many of those guests asked us to create journeys beyond the continent – and that’s how the idea took shape: to bring the same personal approach to new corners of the world.

Today, we design tailor-made journeys to hand-picked destinations such as the Maldives, Vietnam, Zanzibar, Sri Lanka – and many more. What ties them all together is our focus on quality, care, and genuine connection.

The Meaning Behind the Name

“Tembo” is the Swahili word for elephant – a creature we admire for its calm strength and quiet patience. It’s also why, despite what many think, our name isn’t Tempo. In fact, we’re quite the opposite.

We believe great travel takes time – both in the planning and on the journey itself. It’s never about seeing the most, but about getting the most out of every moment you choose.
